It was a fabulously beautiful day in the mountains south of Tijeras for an orienteering meet! NMO was asked to join with NM Adventure Racing Club for this event. Courses included White, Yellow, Orange, and Green Orienteering courses, a Mountain Bike Orienteering course (which didn’t have any takers), and a 4-hr Adventure Race which included a mountain bike course and the Green Orienteering course.

NMO is co-hosting a meet on Saturday, October 1st with the NM Adventure Racing Club. The Orienteering meet will consist of White, Yellow, Orange and Green courses. There will also be a 4hr "Sport" Course Adventure Race entailing mountain biking, trekking and orienteering.

Meet Site is at the Oak Flats picnic area in the Cibola National Forest. Start times are from 10 am to 1 pm. (select "Read More" for more details)

The following are the results for the June 25th Meet at Pajarito Trailhead. We only had 7 starts for the day. It was a very hot & dry day. As it turned out the Forestry Rangers came & asked us to leave due to an increase in fire danger. I wanted to thank Robi Mulford, Ian Swift, Richard Williams, Sanna Sevanto, Garth Reader, Mike Schacht, Drew Martinson, Kathy Siebe, Ido & Liat Reger for all their help before and/or during the meet. We couldn't have had this "last" meet without your help. Thank you all. I especially want to thank Sanna Sevanto.

Except for the diabolical wind we had a perfect day for our meet. There were 17 starts & the Oro family joined our membership. Welcome Oro Family! Thanks go to those that helped set & vet the courses and those that helped with the meet site management & control pickups. Winter orienteering

Several out-of-state orienteers have contacted NMO about purchasing old maps to run on, and asked if NMO will have any winter orienteering events. Here is what we have going now.
