NMO Cedro Peak

New Mexico Orienteers' Cedro Peak map is located in the Sandia Ranger District of the Cibola National Forest, and immediately southeast of Tijeras NM. Here, the Manzanita Mountains are popular for bird watching and feature 80 miles of single track mountain biking and horse riding trails. Driving time from Albuquerque NM is about 10 minutes.

Start locations on this map are the Chamisoso Trailhead, Tunnel Canyon Trailhead, Otero Trailhead, and Cedro Peak Campground aka Cedro Group Campground. Driving directions to all start locations are similar. From I-40 in Tijeras take highway NM 337 south about 1 mile to the Sandia Ranger Station. It has bathrooms. From the station continue south 0.7 miles to Chamisoso, 2 miles to Tunnel Canyon, or 3.2 miles to Otero. For Cedro Peak Campground, from the station continue south 4.3 miles to Juan Tomas Road (paved) east 1 mile to Forest Road 252 (gravel) north about 1 mile, following signs. The campground has water and toilets.
