AARC Oak Flat

Albuquerque Amateur Radio Club's Oak Flat map is located in the Sandia Ranger District of the Cibola National Forest, about 12 miles south southeast of Tijeras NM. Map scale 1:15000, contour interval 6 meters.

Start location is the Oak Flat Group Campground. Driving time from Albuquerque NM is about 20 minutes.

The Manzanita Mountains are popular for bird watching and feature 80 miles of single track mountain biking and horse riding trails. The original 2005 map, then named Sedilla/Juan Thomas, was used for an ARDF international championship in 2005.

Just south of Oak Flat is the Morningside Grocery and Jo Jo's Cafe at Kuhn Rd.
