Orienteering in Petrified Forest National Park, October 17-18

News of New Mexico Orienteers, September 2015

New Mexico Orienteers is pleased to share with NMO members and friends alike this email from one of our neighboring Arizona O clubs, Greater Phoenix Orienteering Club, concerning orienteering near the New Mexico state line.

Hello,
This is Ron Birks from the Greater Phoenix Orienteering Club.  I wanted to let you know about a weekend of orienteering events we are organizing for the Petrified Forest National Park on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18.  Since the National Park is only slightly more than 3 hours from Albuquerque, our events might be something interesting to your club members. We'd really enjoy seeing your members at our events.

This is the first orienteering meet ever held at Petrified Forest National Park! The park is set in the stunning Painted Desert and both Arizona O clubs hosting this meet, GPHXO and Tucson Orienteering Club, are expert at feature mapping and course setting to showcase desert terrain. Check out the details on http://gphxo.org/Events/2015/20151017_PetrifiedForest.htm .

See you there?
